With constant development of the role between specialist consultant and client and the need
to work together and learn together, there has been a dramatic change in perception in favour
of monitoring and prevention. Companies and the private sector are reacting to public health
concerns regarding legionella and Legionnaires’ disease, and are beginning to understand
the importance of relative costs against potential risk. Implementation of Risk Assessments
and strict Legionella maintenance programmes have become a crucial part of the
management process.
